Online Strikes Joint Venture with International ISP
(San Antonio, Texas) January 16, 2001- Orbis Online, a leading multilingual
e-marketplace, announced today that it has signed a letter of intent
with the Rayes Group of Shenzhen, China, China's third largest business-to-business
(B2B) Internet service provider and one of the largest Internet Service
Providers (ISP) overall, to establish a joint venture for the deployment
of Orbis Online's real-time, reverse auction procurement and forward
auction asset disposition solutions for the Chinese market.
In the agreement, eOrbisB2B, the e-procurement operation of Orbis Online,
will provide the e-commerce auction technology and its expertise in
the procurement and asset disposition process which includes sourcing
and qualifying suppliers, and linking buyers and suppliers worldwide.
Orbis Online offers platforms for e-commerce that are browser-based
and require no software or hardware to download or purchase.
