CASE STUDY I:

Service:
Comprehensive supplier sourcing, supplier technical training, execution of hosted, real-time reverse auction, generation of extensive post-auction reports.

Client:
Large Government Entity

Client Requirements:
Internet Access for purposes of posting RFQ and viewing event.

Situation:
A large city government entity spent several months gathering pricing for a large purchase of desktop personal computers. Internal sourcing and negotiating resulted in a minimal cost savings versus the historical purchase price.

Upon closely examining the dynamic pricing model of Orbis Online, this government entity submitted a request for quote (RFQ) for this computer purchase. This enabled Orbis Online to source new suppliers, train these suppliers as to the functionality of their auction platform and facilitate a real-time reverse auction event. The result was a highly competitive online reverse auction event rendering a total of 104 supplier bids. The two hour and thirty minute event resulted in a 32 percent savings versus the
current supplier cost.

Detailed post-auction reports were made available to the client immediately after the event. The client reviewed these reports, as well as the technical solutions of each supplier, and formal notification was made to the winning
supplier.
