Situation:
The client, having been contacted by a member of our sales department and made aware of the various features and benefits of our online
reverse auction platform, submitted a request to Orbis Online for a semi-annual purchase of copy paper to be distributed to various company
locations.

Detailed within this request for quote were specifications regarding the paper, as well as, two incumbent paper suppliers. Upon submission of client’s request and the scheduling and posting of the event, Orbis Online sourcing staff identified and sent formal invitations for suppliers to view the request online.

This resulted in the participation of seven additional paper suppliers. Orbis Online’s sourcing capabilities fostered an intensely competitive online auction event resulting in 24 percent savings versus client’s historical purchase price. After the close of the auction event, detailed and comprehensive post auction reports were made available to the client and formal notification was made to the winning supplier.
